Colorado!!! ❤️
As a family we have been blessed to have had the opportunity explore and enjoy some sweet places together. Then in late August of 2023 Stephen, Hailey, Anjali, and I made the trip out west to Colorado. Road tripping. To tent camp in Estes Park. And let me tell you, that trip was amazing in every way. Beautiful. Breathtaking. (Literally.) Lol. Fun. Full of special bonding time that we will never forget. And though I have some of the pictures from our trip scattered here and there on other pages already, I decided to create a page specifically dedicated to our time there as well.
Such a beautiful sight after such a long road trip. We knew that after crossing Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, and the plains of eastern Colorado, that we were closing in on our destination! This picture doesn’t do it justice. When you’re driving and all of us sudden there’s this view…Home sweet home Estes Park! Our campground was just about a stone’s throw from one of the entrances to RMNP. And RMNP is one of my favorite places in the whole wide world. 😊 So I was a happy camper. Literally. Lol. Where each and every drive would put us in awe. 🥰After making (many) multiple trips between the car and the campsite, we were finally getting set up and settled in. The canopy was set up for “indoor” dining and games, and the tent was set up for a good night’s sleep. There was a lot to unpack yet, though. Hailey and Anjali’s bed is to the right. Steve and I had the bed to the left, and we had the inflatable sleeper sofa in the middle. We kept it folded up into a sofa. But most of the time it served as a great place to organize all our gear. Lol. (Nice legs, Anjali.) 😉 😜Behind our campsite there was nothing but wilderness for hundreds of miles. Perfect. 😊Our fire pit/grill and our bear box/pantry. 🙂 Absolutely everything edible had to be kept in the bear box. We saw deer, elk, moose, squirrels, chipmunks, hummingbirds…oh my. But we never saw a bear. Maybe next time. 😉View from the campground.Truly, Estes Park is an exquisite place.Walking downtown Estes Park. The Big Thompson River. Deer wandering around our campground. 😊
